The session came in the presence of Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, and Khawla Al Mujaini, General Coordinator of the Sharjah International Book Fair, under the title “Maqamat with my servants Al Jawhar”, during a full program launched by the Sharjah Book Authority this year within the new exhibition entitled “Music and Literature.” .

The artist Abadi Al Jawhar thanked the organizers of the exhibition, pointing out that words fail to express his cultural role, and said: “Sharjah is the house of art,” explaining that it embraced him at the beginning of his artistic career, and he presented an evening in 1974 as part of a musical tour in the Emirates, which included Also Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah.

Al-Jawhar revealed that his upbringing in Jeddah shaped his personality, due to its civilized and human exchange, and ethnic, cultural and musical colors, as he considers it an inspiring city. Lyrical, and he was 14 years old at the time, then the great artist Talal Maddah called him to hear his voice, at the suggestion of the artist Lotfi Zaini, and he also visited him to convince his family to sing, so he signed a technical contract with him directly through the "Riad Phone" company that he owned, at that age, He encouraged and supported him a lot, as he was consulting him in his tunes, and he composed for him at the age of 17, at a time when great composers wished to compose for him, and that was in 1972.

And about his memories with Talal Maddah, he said: “Talal used to tell me you have six fingers,” as a result of the essence’s speed in playing the oud, and from here the nickname “Octopus of the Oud” emerged, after which others called him “the ambassador of sadness,” indicating that these titles bothered him sometimes. Because he is a social artist by nature, but the association of words and their singing with abandonment, squalor, core and distance is what gave these impressions.

The artist talked about Gulf art and the honor he received in various countries of the Arab world, and the cooperation that he collected with Emirati poets and artists, where he sang words from the poems of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and also collaborated with a group One of the artists and composers, and you will soon see the light of a song from his compositions that will be presented by the artist Ahlam.
