Miss Argentina and Miss Puerto Rico are happy and very much in love.

The two young women, who met in 2020 backstage at the Miss Grand International pageant, announced on their Instagram account that they had said "yes" to each other on October 28 in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico.

They had so far never formalized their idyll.

They found love in the middle of a beauty contest… Fabiola Valentin (Miss Puerto Rico) and Mariana Varela (Miss Argentina) have not left each other since their participation in Miss Grand International, in 2020, in Thailand.

In the top 10 of the contest, the two young women fell in love with each other backstage.

But, it was only on October 30, two years after their meeting, that they formalized their romance on Instagram, revealing in passing that they had said “yes” to each other for life.

Legal gay marriage in Puerto Rico since 2015

"After deciding to keep our relationship private, we open the doors to you for a special day," they wrote on their Instagram account in the caption of a video looking back on their two-year love story, their meeting at their engagement through the day of their wedding.

Fabiola Valentin and Mariana Varela got married on October 28 in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico.

Gay marriage has been legal there since 2015.

"We are happy and blessed"

The two young women were congratulated on social networks by dozens of other Misses, met during Miss Grand International.

"The competition has brought together a beautiful union", rejoiced the American Abena Akuaba, winner of the competition in 2020. The committee organizing the competition recalled that it supported "love without limits".

"Thank you for all the love! We are happy and blessed," replied Mariana Varela on Instagram. "We hope that the love you give us will come back to you multiplied," she added.

Long live the brides!
