In an exclusive interview with Al-Jazeera, the Iraqi president stressed the need to support the Palestinian cause as a just cause, and said that Iraq condemns all Israeli violations in the Palestinian territories and supports the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, noting that all Iraqi parties agree to support the Palestinian cause.

He described his country as a strong and influential country at the Arab and international levels, and that it seeks to strengthen its relations with Arab countries for the interest of the region, which he said has suffered from conflicts and wars, calling for the need to resolve Arab-Arab disputes in a peaceful manner for the interests of the peoples.

In the same context, the Iraqi president stressed that the relations between his country and the Gulf states are "excellent" and that there is an exchange of visits;

Political and commercial, expressing his hope to expand these relations after the formation of the new Iraqi government.

He also praised Iraq's relations with Turkey and Iran, describing them as serious, and said that there are no conflicts or disagreements with the two countries, despite his condemnation of any attack targeting Iraqi territory.

Regarding the Iraqi mediation in the Iran-Saudi negotiations, Abdul Latif Rashid stressed that Saudi Arabia is a very important country in the region, and that its relationship with Iraq is strong and there are attempts by Baghdad to improve it, noting that the meetings between Tehran and Riyadh are continuing, noting that Iraq does not interfere in the decisions of the two countries in this regard. particular.

Regarding Iraq’s relationship with the United States of America, the guest of the “Special Meeting” program stressed that Iraq is an independent country in its decision and does not allow any country to impose its decision on it. Iraq, parliament and government...".

The security situation has improved

On the other hand, in his speech, the Iraqi President touched on the internal situation in Iraq, and expressed his optimism about the improvement in the security and political conditions, and said that the Iraqi people began to feel this improvement, but called for the need to be wary of terrorist attacks, given that the country suffered from ISIS.

While expressing his hope that there will be a strong government that represents all segments of society, the Iraqi president revealed that the government's program will focus on achieving security, fighting terrorism and improving services in the country, such as providing energy and electricity, and organizing streets and cities.

He stated that fighting corruption will be among the priorities of the new government.

The Iraqi president also spoke about the political crisis in Iraq, about quotas, about the consensus of the political blocs, and about the early parliamentary elections, which he said had not yet been set, and that such a decision belongs to the Iraqi parliament and the new government.

With regard to changing the Iraqi constitution, he explained that Iraq needs laws and legislation more than it needs to change the constitution.
