  At around 18:10 on October 23, a man in his 50s had an emergency while playing badminton in the Shanxi Sports Center Gymnasium. Chen Zaibin, honorary director of the Department of Nephrology of the Second People's Hospital of Shanxi Province, who was also preparing to play badminton, hurried forward. , found that his face was blue, unconscious, and not breathing, and immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

  The venue staff quickly dialed 120 and promptly fetched the AED configured on site. Chen Zaibin defibrillated the patient twice.

At the same time, Red Cross ambulancemen Feng Tongtong and Chen Sheng, who had successfully rescued people with AEDs at the Shanxi Sports Center, also rushed to the scene and continued to perform CPR and artificial respiration on the man.

  After more than 30 minutes of rescue, the man gradually regained consciousness, breathing and heartbeat. The rescue was successful, and then he was sent to the hospital by 120 ambulance.

The patient is currently undergoing further observation and treatment in the hospital.

  Chen Zaibin said that for cardiac arrest patients, it is very important to take correct first aid measures within the golden 4 to 6 minutes. "The correct use of AED and the implementation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation can greatly improve the effect of pre-hospital first aid. This successful rescue, The AED made a big difference."

  Since 2020, the deployment of AEDs in crowded public places such as transportation hubs, colleges and universities, communities, streets, convenience service windows, elderly care institutions and tourist attractions has been listed as one of the ten people's livelihood facts of the year by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government.

  Shanxi Red Cross Society, as the leading unit, has put a total of 1,823 AEDs into the province and trained more than 110,000 people.
