Exhibitors in the "Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra" book fairs are exempted from the 2022 session fees

The Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language of the Department of Culture announced that exhibitors participating in the sessions of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fairs, Al Ain Book Festival and Al Dhafra Book Fairs for 2022 will be exempted from rental fees, in line with the center’s strategy to enable the continuity and growth of the publishing sector’s business. and promoting the recovery phase, and in support of local publishers and publishers from around the world.

Yesterday, the Center announced the organization of the "Al Ain Book Festival", during the period from 14 to 20 November in the city of Al Ain, and through an agenda full of various cultural, cognitive and artistic events that suit all segments of society.

Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, praised this qualitative step to support the achievement of the goals of the new strategy of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, and book fairs in general, which come to translate the vision of the wise leadership to consolidate knowledge, advance the publishing sector, support local publishers, and promote effective communication. Among these exhibitions, as prominent annual cultural and knowledge platforms, the publishing and creative content sectors locally, regionally and globally.

He added: The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2022, which is organized annually by the Center, has achieved remarkable successes, which have led to the consolidation of its position within the global cultural scene, in line with the leadership of the UAE, and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in particular, as an incubator for the most important exhibitions and cultural events that open wide doors for the world to learn To human innovations in various fields, and the event, in its latest edition, was able to support publishers and stimulate competition among them to advance and develop the publishing sector in all aspects.

Over the course of a week, the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair presented a wide range of comprehensive cultural, cognitive and artistic events that targeted different audiences, hosting 1,130 publishers from more than 80 countries, and a selection of literary, intellectual and cognitive names from the holders of the most important international prizes, such as the Nobel And the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, Booker, Pulitzer and others, who participated in presenting more than 650 diverse events

During the exhibition's activities, the "Generation Treasure" award was launched, which is concerned with honoring Nabati poetic works, folkloric studies, and research.

The award includes six branches: “Poetic Matching” for the poem “Ya’al Nou Banat Mazoona” by the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, “Creative Personality” and the “Arts” branch, which includes the art of Arabic calligraphy, as well as “The Arts.” Studies and Research", and the "Poetic Publications" branch, and "Translation".

The exhibition also witnessed the holding of the first session of the "Arab Publishing and Creative Industries Conference", in which 300 speakers, publishers and specialists from around the world participated.

The exhibition hosted the nineteenth session of the "Gulf Book Fairs Directors Meeting 2022", which came out with a set of effective recommendations to improve book fairs and the reality of Arab publishing. 

In its previous session, the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair hosted 1,130 publishers from more than 80 countries.
