According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the number of applications for public assistance in August this year was 20,562 nationwide, an increase of 1,360, or 7.1%, from August last year.
It is the fourth consecutive month that the number of applications for public assistance has exceeded the same month of the previous year.
In addition, 17,555 households newly started receiving public assistance in August, an increase of 8.8% compared to August last year.
The number of households receiving public assistance is 1,644,112 nationwide.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said that it was difficult to analyze the direct impact of recent price increases and the number of public assistance cases, and said, ``People who are having trouble with their lives should not hesitate to consult with the local government.'' is.
