  The exhibition is divided into three parts: "Traveling from the Source", "Taking Cultural People", and "The Beginning of National Politics". "Traveling from the Source" takes the site group of Xihoudu from 2.43 million years ago to the ruins of more than 200,000 years ago. The Dingcun site group and the Xujiayao site group show the evolution of human beings on this land.

"Yi Culture Man" shows the development of human beings in the Neolithic Age about 10,000 years ago.

"The Beginning of State Administration" traces the origin of Chinese civilization to the Taosi site, the formation process of the initial China.

  The stone-carved silkworm chrysalis unearthed at the Qiujiazhuang cemetery in Wenxi, Shanxi and the Shicun site in Xia County are on public display for the first time.
