The giant pandas adopted and named this time were born on September 13, 2021. Their mother is the giant panda "Curiosity" and their father is the giant panda "Lu Lin".
The two giant pandas "Xiong Xiaokai" and "Mao Xiaoyu" are the first pair of giant panda siblings adopted by the Chongqing Zoo.
The person in charge of Kaiyu Group, which adopted two giant pandas, expressed the hope that through adopting giant pandas, everyone's attention to the harmonious development of humans and animals will be aroused.
Yin Yuzhong, deputy director of the Chongqing Zoo Management Office, introduced that as early as the 1980s, Chongqing Zoo launched a public welfare adoption campaign for wild animals, including giant pandas, South China tigers, red pandas, golden monkeys, swans and other wild animals.
At present, all enterprises, institutions, social groups and individuals can adopt more than 500 representative wild animals of more than 80 species, including giant pandas, South China tigers, clouded leopards, orangutans, gibbons, Asian elephants, hippos, red-crowned cranes, and green peacocks in Chongqing Zoo.
Yin Yuzhong said that after adopting an animal, the adopted animal is still kept in the zoo, and the adopter will receive the honorary certificate of "Caring for Wild Animals" issued by the Chongqing Zoo, and can be hired as a volunteer supervisor of the zoo or as a volunteer in the conservation education of the zoo. team.
At the same time, adopters can also know the living conditions of the animals at any time, visit the animals in person, and participate in the popular science activities of the adopted animals and appropriate image promotion organized by the zoo in the later period.
