The company said the malfunction was restored around 1:40 p.m.

According to NTT Data, from around 10:30 am on the 1st, there was a problem with a terminal called "CAFIS Arch" used for payments such as credit cards, transportation IC cards, electronic money, and QR codes.



The impact has spread as it has become impossible to make payments at stores nationwide that have introduced terminals.



Of these, cashless payments were not available at approximately 8,600 post offices nationwide, and they responded by asking customers to pay in cash.



In addition, cashless payment is no longer available at approximately 1,200 stores nationwide at Sundrug, a major drug store.



According to NTT DATA, the cause of the problem was a failure of the network equipment, and as a result of the restoration work, it became available sequentially from around 11:15 am, and the restoration was confirmed around 1:40 pm. .



NTT DATA commented, ``We apologize for causing a great deal of inconvenience to our customers.''
