The first activities of the "Sharjah Shows" program, organized by the Sharjah Art Foundation, will be launched the day after tomorrow, at the heritage house of Obaid Al Shamsi, with the theatrical show "Every Need is Sweet", directed by Ahmed Al Attar, and performed by Nanda Mohammed.

“Every Need is Sweet” will be held as part of a series of contemporary and avant-garde artistic performances, spanning over 17 performance nights, from the beginning of November 2022 until early January 2023.

Written by English author Duncan Macmillan in 2013, the play quickly became one of the most successful scripts of the past decade, performed on theaters all over the world, and translated into Arabic and directed by Ahmed Al Attar.

The play revolves around a mother living in depression and a desire to commit suicide, which affects her family, especially her daughter, played by the Syrian actress Nanda Muhammad. This show depends on the performing abilities of one actress on an empty stage with few accessories and music. The actress is faced with reconciling the flow of the story with the energy of the audience, who are invited to participate and improvise, and although the theme of the play is complex and charged with emotions, the audience emerges from it with a positive, cheerful and hopeful energy.

Ahmed Al-Attar is a freelance director and playwright, and he is the founder and artistic director of the “Al-Mabaad Independent Theater” troupe.

As for Nanda Muhammad, she graduated in the acting department at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus, and worked with many theater directors inside and outside Syria.
