The fourth busiest line of the Paris metro network, line 7 is very often saturated at rush hour.

It is regularly targeted by criticism from users, especially those who go to Ivry-sur-Seine or Villejuif.

Indeed, from Maison Blanche station, the line splits in two;

explains Actu-Val-de-Marne.

This junction makes it possible to go to one of the two cities of the Val-de-Marne but represents the first cause of the malfunction of this line;

according to Pierre Garzon, the mayor of Villejuif (PCF).

The frequency of trains is halved and the waiting time for users is therefore often extended by many minutes.

The elected official challenged Valérie Pécresse, president of the Region and president of Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM).

According to him, the solution would be the "disconnection" of one of the two axes of line 7 and that it be integrated into the extension of line 5 of the metro which stops at the Place d'Italie station.

If validated, this project would require six years of study and procedure as well as six or seven years of work, according to IDFM.
