A farewell party for Hanae Mori, a world-famous fashion designer who passed away in August this year, was held at Art Tower Mito, where Mr. Mori served as chairman of the management organization during his lifetime.

Hanae Mori is a world-famous fashion designer known for her designs with butterfly motifs. Since 1998, she has served as chairman of the foundation that operates the Art Tower Mito, and died in August at the age of 96.



On the night of the 26th, a farewell party was held for Mr. Mori, Mr. Mitsuo Yoshida, vice president of the foundation who passed away by September, and Mr. Tatsuo Oguchi, honorary adviser to the Mito Chamber Orchestra.



Approximately 450 people, including the general public, attended the ceremony and offered a moment of silence, with each person placing a pink carnation on the flower stand.



A woman in her 80s from Mito City said, "I understand well that Mr. Mori has been helping Mito City and the art museum. I hope she can rest in peace."



Mr. Yasutsugu Toyoshima of the Mito Chamber Orchestra said, "I was able to perform regularly at the hall because of the support for the operation. I performed with gratitude."
