In a bribery case in which the former director of the National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo was arrested over the introduction of the system, the police said that they received a tablet terminal worth about 1.9 million yen. He was re-arrested on suspicion of bribery.

Re-arrested was Tomohiko Aso (56), who was the director of radiological technology at the National Cancer Center Central Hospital in Chuo-ku, Tokyo.



Yukio Okabe, 65, former president of Medical Create, a medical equipment system company in Hiroshima, was also arrested again on suspicion of bribery.



According to the police, the former department manager offered the convenience of creating specifications that would give former president Okabe's company an advantage over the introduction of a system related to radiological medical equipment at the hospital. In addition, there is a suspicion of bribery, saying that the company received tablet terminals and wireless speakers worth about 1.9 million yen in total.



According to the investigation so far, it is suspected that former director Aso received a large number of tablet terminals etc. that were transported to the director's office in the hospital, resold some of them, and exchanged them for cash.



Police have not disclosed the identity of the two men, citing an obstacle to the investigation.



In addition, the Yokohama District Public Prosecutor's Office indicted former director Aso for accepting bribes and former president Okabe for bribery, alleging that he delivered bribes worth about 970,000 yen in March last year.
