Within an atmosphere that reflects the extent of Dubai’s interest in reading, the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has opened its windows to the worlds of reading, as a basis for the upliftment of society. Until October 28th.

The Director General of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), Hala Badri, accompanied by Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, Executive Director of the Arts and Letters Sector at the Authority, and directors of Dubai Public Libraries’ branches, visited the “Reading Fund 2022” initiative, which falls under the framework of the “Reading Fund 2022” project. Schools of Life”, where she was briefed on the details of the discussion sessions and interactive workshops offered by the initiative within its rich program, which motivates the public to walk the paths of knowledge, and opens up new intellectual horizons for them.

Hala Badri attended the workshop "Salamah Awareness Magazine", which was presented by the lecturer Sherif Abuta, in which he shed light on the innovative intellectual and awareness content provided by the magazine, instilling in children the principles of health, safety and environment, which is translated by the magazine, issued by the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, by publishing illustrated stories that carry many awareness messages aimed at enhancing traffic safety among members of society.

During her visit, Hala Badri was also briefed on a set of new books, which were launched on the sidelines of the initiative’s activities, which are in line with the National Reading Strategy 2016-2026 aimed at promoting cultural values ​​in society and supporting all fields of culture from arts and literature, as a soft force that reflects the civilized aspirations of Dubai and the Emirates. .

Hala Badri stressed the importance of establishing a culture of reading among members of society, and its impact on creating a generation of readers, capable of leading the development process in the country, noting the role that reading plays in consolidating the foundations of the creative economy of Dubai and the UAE, and its effects in building bridges of knowledge, and finding new paths for development. It is based on knowledge and innovation, calling at the same time to the need to pay attention to such initiatives, and to enhance their presence in public places, because of their positive repercussions on society.
