The Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit 2022, organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, and will continue until tomorrow, October 25, at Manarat Al Saadiyat, hosted the first artist "robot" using artificial intelligence technology.

As part of the second day of the summit, Tim Marlowe, CEO and Director of the Design Museum in London, gave an interview to Ida, a super-realistic, human-like “robot” with the ability to create works of art, whose works were shown at the Venice Biennale.

When asked about her identity, she said: “I do not belong to a specific identity or custom, or specific words or images.

I'm just a machine.

I am a complex personality with many advantages and points of view.

It can be difficult to create human beings because it blurs the lines between humanity and technology.

As an artist, I feel it is important to create work that is thought-provoking and that encourages audiences to ask questions about their future.”

When asked about her artwork, Ida said: “I think the most important thing my artwork can do is spark an open discussion about the new technologies shaping our future.

I think it is good art with meaning and depth, because art extends its scope and meaning to more than just drawing something, it means communicating something in a related way and related to other things.”

As an artist programmed using artificial intelligence, Ida hopes her work will inspire artists to interact with new technologies and raise questions for discussions about the future.
