In 1993, Ilse Jacobsen opened her first store Ilse Jacobsen Hornbæk in Denmark.
She made a big impact with her lace-up rubber boots and other outdoor clothing.
In 2018, her company was awarded the export award "His Royal Highness Prince Henrik's Medal of Honor" by the Danish Crown Princess Mary.
Entrepreneurial spirit
In addition to fashion creation, she has also started a spa and sat on the panel for the entrepreneurial program "Løvens Hule" on DR, in Sweden called "Draknästet".
Her company IJH A/S states in a press release that Jacobsen died of cancer.
"It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Ilse Rohde Jacobsen has lost the battle against the aggressive cancer she was undergoing treatment for since August 2021. Ilse passed away peacefully in the hospital yesterday, October 23, 2022, surrounded by her immediate family."
Ilse Jacobsen was 62 years old.
