• Clashes reportedly broke out between members of the ultra left and the ultra right.

  •  Two men were reportedly slightly injured and were taken care of by firefighters.

The same video and the same scene relayed on social networks.

Two different readings.

On Saturday evening, clashes broke out on Place Sainte-Anne, in Rennes, between members of the ultra-right and the ultra-left.

On Twitter, some denounce the violence of antifa.

Others criticize “a freewheeling extreme right”.

As in a quarrel between children, it will be difficult to know who started it.

According to the prefecture of Ille-et-Vilaine, the facts would have started around 9 p.m. at the corner of the square, not far from the congress center.

Clashes reportedly broke out between members of the ultra left and the ultra right.

“We are talking about a brawl, there was no real confrontation”, specifies the prefecture.

Glasses and chairs that were on the terraces would have been swung.

Two men were reportedly slightly injured and were taken care of by firefighters.

They would be members of the ultra right.

It is unclear at this time whether any complaints have been filed.

Clashes also broke out during the police intervention.

Twenty individuals with umbrellas would have thrown projectiles at the police, who would have pushed them back towards the square where the Vieux Saint-Etienne theater is located.

The ultra left would be at the origin of this violence.

After the demonstration for Lola

The brawl broke out a few hours after the holding of a rally organized, among others, by the Reconquest movement of Eric Zemmour.

A few dozen people were gathered behind a “Justice for Lola” banner, in tribute to the teenager killed on October 14 in Paris.

A counter-rally was held at the same time by the extreme left.
