Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, President of the International Publishers Association, concluded a week of discussions and cultural dialogues during her presence and participation in the activities of the 74th session of the “Frankfurt International Book Fair” 2022, which will be held for the first time in three years on the ground in full, after organizing last year’s session in a hybrid form. Organized by the Frankfurt International Book Fair, in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi highlighted the main results of the analysis of data collected by the International Publishers Association from a report prepared by the organization on the “global publishing industry.”

Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi reviewed three tracks for the global publishing sector in order to enhance the opportunities for its recovery and development, noting that they are summarized in: sustainability, and the urgent need to address the differences in the recovery of developing countries’ markets during the “Corona” stage and beyond, in addition to the digital transformation and acceleration necessary for these The process to ensure the prosperity of the publishing industry in those countries.

The President of the International Federation of Publishers stressed that workers in the publishing sector did not fully benefit from the digital transformation process, and that the lack of data collection constituted a major weakness that impeded mobilizing government support and joint planning to coordinate the development of the industry, pointing out that the use of data helps the publishing industry to advance the wheel of development. sustainable and economic growth.

Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi spoke at the Sustainability Summit organized by the International Federation of Publishers during the exhibition, and invited workers in the publishing sector to focus on finding sustainable solutions for all, highlighting environmental issues.
