Lola's family "needs the respect and affection of the nation", assured Emmanuel Macron this Friday on the sidelines of a European Council in Brussels.

For the first time, Emmanuel Macron reacts publicly to the murder of Lola.

“What affects us?

This is the atrocity of this crime,” the president said when asked by a reporter about the death of the 12-year-old girl.

“I am thinking above all of Lola's parents, her brother and her half-brother, the disarray of this family which is incredibly dignified and united at this moment.

And I think she needs first and foremost the respect and affection of the nation,” the Head of State also said, as the circumstances of Lola's death and the profile of the suspect, of Algerian nationality, aroused strong criticism on the right and the extreme right, and that the parents of the victim indicated that they did not want "any political recovery".

At the same time, we also learn that an investigation has just been opened for "violation of professional secrecy" and "violation of the secrecy of the investigation".

This follows the broadcast, this Thursday morning on BFMTV, of the interview with an anonymous police officer, who intervened at the scene of Lola's murder.

The investigations were entrusted to the IGPN, specifies the Paris prosecutor's office.
