In 2012, students majoring in photography at the Academy of Fine Arts of Guizhou Normal University voluntarily organized a public welfare activity to take family portraits for rural families in Guizhou.

In the past 10 years, students have relayed the inheritance from generation to generation, walked into nearly 7,000 rural families, took more than 10,000 photos, fixed the beautiful life in the countryside, and witnessed the changes in the countryside in the past 10 years.

Team leader Zhou Jialu introduced to the Beijing Youth Daily reporter that the team will not stop in the countryside, and will better record the rural development and revitalization of Guizhou in the future.

Zhou Jialu is a photography student in the 2020 class and is currently the head of the "1 Family 1" family portrait shooting group.

Zhou Jialu introduced that 10 years ago, a senior from a remote mountain village in Guizhou proposed the idea of taking pictures of the elderly in the village.

At that time, transportation was inconvenient, and many elderly people in the village did not have family photos.

Under the suggestion of the senior, the senior senior and sister majoring in photography organized this public welfare activity spontaneously.

After raising a part of their own funds and receiving some support from the college, they carried cameras, printers, sleeping bags, tents and other equipment, and walked across the mountains to the villages in remote areas of Guizhou.

They take family portraits for each villager, as well as single-person photos for the elderly and children.

Zhou Jialu introduced that the members took the holiday to go to the mountain villages and chose one village to shoot each time.

They choose an open space in the village to camp on the spot, go from house to house during the day to take pictures, and return to the camp to print at night.

In the past 10 years, the team members have been constantly updated. A total of more than 200 people have walked through 25 villages in Guizhou, entered 6,998 households, and took 14,673 photos for the villagers.

Zhou Jialu introduced that after selecting a village, they will contact the local village committee in advance, and they will go to the village only after obtaining the consent of the other party.

The elderly in the village are very enthusiastic about the members, and they will take out their own agricultural products to thank the students.

There are many small wineries in some villages. The villagers make their own rice wine. When they see the students coming, they are very happy to share it with the students.

The students were also moved by this happiness whenever the elderly took pictures with their children smiling.

Zhou Jialu still remembers that at an event, an old man in his sixties took out an old photo that was blurry and badly damaged by water. It was a photo of him and a deceased brother.

The old man asked the students if this kind of photo could be repaired.

The students took the photos to the camp, and through their professional skills, they returned a new and clear photo to the old man.

Zhou Jialu still remembers how excited the old man was when he got the photo.

Zhou Jialu is a native of Shandong, and when she walked into the rural areas of Guizhou, this girl from the north also experienced the customs of rural Guizhou.

Through the photos and the communication with the seniors and sisters, she also deeply felt the changes in the countryside.

A few years ago, it was very inconvenient for students to walk into the countryside.

Because the mountain road is rugged, every time you enter the village, you have to walk a long way and make many turns to get there.

When arriving at the village at night, there are hardly any lights in the village.

But in recent years, students have come into the village again, and there are already a variety of means of transportation to choose from.

The old houses in the village were gradually replaced by new ones.
