A World War II bomb was found on Tuesday at a construction site in Ouistreham (Calvados).

Now secure, this explosive device, approximately one tonne for 1.80 meters long, will be definitively neutralized by deminers on Monday, November 7, reports

A reception area provided

For the occasion, the authorities have planned to ban traffic and evacuate the perimeter within a radius of 400 m around the site.

Hundreds of residents will have to leave their homes or workplaces from 8 a.m. and for an indefinite period.

Since Thursday, municipal agents have been informing the population by distributing leaflets.

A reception area will be made available by the municipality for the duration of the intervention: it is a tennis complex with covered courts.

Animals will not be allowed there.

They can stay at home.

Medicines, identity papers, food… The authorities recommend that the people concerned do not forget anything essential in their accommodation, which they will only be able to return to after the intervention.
