This is the time to be vigilant if you are about to taste cheese.

Several batches contaminated with E. Coli bacteria are recalled throughout France, warns the government site Rappel Conso since Wednesday.

Sold in September and October

The targeted products are the 240 g “Petit pont-l'Évêque” cheeses of the La Perelle brand.

They were sold on the shelves of Grand Frais, Fresh and Mon Marché stores between September 24 and October 13.

The batch concerned bears the number 030922LI5 and the date of consumption is fixed at November 17.

This massive recall is explained by the risk of the presence of E. Coli bacteria which can cause gastric complications in consumers.

Do not consume it

Customers who find this cheese in their fridge are invited to make themselves known before November 1 in order to be reimbursed.

They must not consume it and are encouraged to bring it back to the store.

The government site recalls that the E. Coli bacterium can "lead, within three days of consumption, to gastroenteritis marked by abdominal pain and diarrhea (possibly accompanied by blood), accompanied or not by fever".

In the event of symptoms after consuming this product, consumers should “consult their doctor without delay”.
