The management of the Guingamp swimming pool (Côtes-d'Armor) has decided to lower the heating.

Since this Friday, the water in the basins as well as the ambient air have been lowered by one degree.

The reasons for this choice are multiple, explained to

Ouest-France

the vice-president of the agglomeration in charge of children, youth, sports and leisure Dominique Pariscoat.

One of the objectives was to reduce the energy bill.

Heating weighs heavily in the operating cost of the swimming pool, whose budget is in deficit.

It was also necessary to follow the directives issued by the prefect of the department, requesting the implementation of measures to reduce energy consumption.

The air temperature is now 25°C and the water temperature ranges from 27 to 31.5°C depending on the pools.

This drop of one degree is accompanied by an effort concerning the quantity of water used by the site.

The water is recycled and the quantities added are calculated as closely as possible to the standards in force.
