A slight improvement.

The supply of fuel to service stations improved slightly with 28.1% of them in difficulty on Monday, against more than 30% the day before, announced the Minister for Energy Transition, Agnès Pannier-Runacher at the outcome of a meeting at the Elysée.

"Tonight at 4:00 p.m., 28.1% of service stations had a problem, a break in at least one product, compared to more than 30% yesterday," she said on RTL.

President Emmanuel Macron on Monday called for a solution "as quickly as possible" to "settle" the fuel crisis and met in the afternoon at the Elysée Palace with Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne and the members of the government concerned.

Beginning of the All Saints holidays on Saturday

"The decision that was taken is to mobilize a notch above the prefects in support of Total, Esso, to speed up the delivery of fuel to service stations in conjunction with carriers," explained Agnès. Pannier-Runacher.

Oil tankers "are having trouble transporting this gasoline through the usual circuits that they use at service stations".

“In concrete terms, this is what has been done in Hauts-de-France, that is to say that we call the service stations which are in difficulty, we make sure that they have links with the carriers and their usual suppliers, we check that the slots are compatible with the depots…”, detailed the Minister.

"We are doing everything we can to improve this situation on the eve of the All Saints holidays," she said.
