In the judgment of the second trial on the 17th, presiding judge Hajime Shimada of the Tokyo High Court said, "On the day when the defendant was scheduled to meet with the victim, he told a lie about his prescription history and obtained sleeping pills. Following the first trial by the lay judge, the defendant was found guilty and sentenced to 19 years in prison.
