The strike movement continues in the refineries, still causing heavy disruption for nearly a third of the service stations and many motorists.

Guest of France Info this Monday, the confederal secretary of the CGT, Catherine Perret, gave new indications on the mobilization, and swept the call of Elisabeth Borne.

“The strike levels are very majority, between 60 and 80% of the employees who run the refineries”, she explained.

Present at a general meeting at the TotalEnergies refinery in Donges (Loire-Atlantique), she points to the agreement signed by the CFDT and CFE-CGC: “The majority of employees have decided that the level of increase [proposed by Total] was not enough: it means that the two unions that signed the agreement are in the minority among the employees.

"Is not Maurice Thorez who wants"

The confederal secretary of the CGT also responded to Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, who asked the strikers on Sunday evening to "respect the majority agreement and not to block the country" on TF1.

“When we call for a return to work, it means that we have satisfied all of the demands for which we were on strike,” she recalls.

“However, it was only the employees on strike who decided that the negotiations at a 5% increase were very largely insufficient, they are asking for 10%.

[…] It is not Maurice Thorez who wants “, she added, before concluding: “The faster we win, the faster everyone can resume a normal life.
