20 Minutes

asked Donatella Meden, miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais 2022, to tell about this adventure which is coming to an end.

Your last week, as a miss, is particularly hectic…

It's true.

Since Saturday, I have been accompanying the candidates for the Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais 2023 election. It's a big week of preparation for them.

I kind of play the role of big sister.

I help them and give them advice, keeping an attentive ear for each of them because I have to remain neutral.

I'm not on the jury.

What is the program ?

A first evening was organized at the cabaret of Licques, in Pas-de-Calais.

The next day, photo shoots took place at the Royal Hainaut hotel in Valenciennes, in the North.

The program is organized according to the partners of the Miss France regional committee.

Since Monday, we have been meeting in Liévin, near Lens, to focus on Saturday's ceremony.

Many activities are planned, escape game, bowling or even horse ball, for example, to see how the candidates are doing in community.

Does this ceremony, on a personal level, make you sad?

Every ending is sad.

I definitely have a little nostalgia.

But I can't wait until Saturday to symbolically pass on my crown.

I think more of the positive and what awaits me afterwards.

This year has been very profitable with great opportunities that have been offered to me.

The Miss France evening, last year, allowed me to gain confidence and acquire mental and psychological strength that will serve me in life.

Precisely, how did you experience this particular year?

After being elected miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais, it was a whirlwind for a few weeks, until the national election.

Afterwards, I returned home and resumed my life.

But I'm lucky to belong to a very committed committee that organizes a lot of events.

There are in particular many local galas, thirteen or fourteen, to elect the local misses.

I have been in high demand.

That's why I chose to take a break from my studies to focus on my role as miss.

What has this title changed for you?

I became an influencer on Instagram.

Notoriety brings credibility and contracts with brands.

I obviously want to continue and rely on this experience with the 40,000 people who follow me.

Belonging to this regional committee is an asset, because in the region, there is a real passion, a little chauvinistic, around the misses.

It opens doors.

Otherwise, in September, I resumed my studies in the 3rd year of fashion management.

I hope to graduate at the end of the year to tackle the master's degree and continue on this path.
