An advertisement for the Halle O Discount supermarket in Lognes (Seine-et-Marne) aroused the indignation of customers and feminist activists last week.

In a Facebook post now deleted but relayed on Twitter, the brand highlighted cushions described as "very useful if you kneel", reports

The post was notably pinned by the feminist association Pépite Sexiste.

Internet users have pointed to “vulgar” and “sexist” communication.

A mother said she was "very surprised" by the advertisement and is now waiting for a "public apology" from the supermarket.

Nugget Sexist would have noticed other publications of the same ilk from the brand.

Contacted on October 10 by the Ile-de-France daily, the supermarket manager apologized and said she was very shocked.

She assured that the latter had been written by an intern while she was on vacation, thus justifying the lack of control.

The argument did not convince Sexist Pépite, which is more generally used to sharing examples of advertisements based on sexist stereotypes.
