Pupils and elderly people residing in nursing homes in Crest and Aouste-sur-Sye (Drôme) will take their place in an original and ecological vehicle this Thursday.

The two municipalities have indeed decided to have them test the hippobus, a large vehicle pulled by two horses.

The harnessed cart will travel between the two towns;

The children will thus be able to travel to the art center and the elderly will use this motorless bus to go to a place for a walk.

The objective of the operation is to show local authorities and decision-makers that the hippobus is a less polluting and less noisy transport solution, which can be adapted for different uses.

A week later, another trip will be organized for a group of childminders and residents of another Ehpad.

“If communities express their needs, I will be available to support them.

From reflection to implementation through study,” said Carole Ray-Barman, the engineer who created the hippobus, explaining that the vehicle promotes social ties along the way.
