On October 11, local time, NASA released a set of photos showing the spacecraft of the "Double Asteroid Redirection Test" (DART) mission hitting the asteroid "Didymos" on September 26. A few minutes later, the asteroid spewed some debris.

On the 11th, NASA held a press conference saying that the DART spacecraft successfully collided with the target asteroid "Dimorphos" and deviated from its original orbit.
