The deputy, for her part, told AFP that she had been contacted on Tuesday by the Minister of the Interior, who suggested that this assessment be carried out after having been informed of the threats she was facing.

“It was Gérald Darmanin himself who contacted me” to propose this threat assessment, inviting him to provide all the useful documents, said Sandrine Rousseau.

Threats by mail and on social networks

The MP, whose public statements often trigger heated debates, explains that she receives many threats, by mail and on social networks.

"And it has intensified lately," assured the ecologist, who was recently at the heart of the news after relaying accusations of "psychological violence" made against his colleague Julien Bayou.

"I filed three complaints", one of which resulted in June in the appearance of a man "who had threatened me with a throat cut", detailed Sandrine Rousseau.

She explained that at this stage she was not "requesting police protection", but that she wanted to "know what the risk is" in order to decide whether it should be offered to her.
