Investigators from the territorial directorates of the judicial police of Bordeaux and Limoges postponed their operations on Monday to protest against the reform of the judicial police, we learned from the National Association of the Judicial Police (ANPJ).

In detail, it is "surveillance operations, arrests, searches and hearings" planned for this week, which are postponed.

Only “emergencies and on-call service” will be insured.

The movement should be “renewable” and last “all week, according to an investigator from the association, created in August against the reform.

“It is a strong symbol”.

“Some Opening Elements”

The Minister of the Interior addressed all PJ officials on Monday morning in a letter of which AFP was aware.

He assures that the reform will not be finalized "before the second half of 2023".

Until now, the minister spoke of an implementation "current 2023", without further details.

“There are some opening elements.

Now we're going to knock on his door and see if he listens to us.

We have real proposals to make, ”says the policeman who wishes to remain anonymous.

The dispute over the reform of the PJ rose a notch with the dismissal on Friday of Eric Arella, respected boss of the southern PJ, sparking indignation among the police and in the legal world.

In protest, hundreds of investigators gathered outside their departments on Friday afternoon.

These rallies took place in more than 40 cities.

The latter plans to place all police services at department level - intelligence, public security, border police (PAF) and judicial police (PJ) - under the authority of a single Departmental Director of the National Police ( DDPN), depending on the prefect.
