According to the Israel Defense Forces, a checkpoint in East Jerusalem was shot on the evening of the 8th, killing one person and injuring two others.
The Israeli army said that at about 9:00 p.m. that night, a Palestinian shot at Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint from a moving vehicle in the Shuafat area of East Jerusalem, and then fled to a nearby refugee camp.
An 18-year-old female soldier who was hit by the bullet was seriously injured and died after being taken to the hospital.
Another seriously injured person is an Israeli security officer and is currently being treated in the intensive care unit.
According to Palestinian media reports, after the shooting, Israeli security forces clashed with local residents when they entered the Shuafat refugee camp to look for suspects.
Jerusalem police said special forces and helicopters were involved in the manhunt and three suspects were arrested and identified.
