The “Autumn Takayama Festival” was held for the first time in three years in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, where all the gorgeous festival floats were gathered together, and many tourists watched the traditional festival.

The Takayama Festival, which is held every spring and autumn, is a traditional festival that dates back to the late 16th and 17th centuries, and is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

This time, it was held for the first time in three years due to the influence of the new corona, and the 10 stalls, excluding one under repair, showed a gorgeous appearance for the first time in a long time.

The floats then proceeded slowly with the children playing the festival music, and when they gathered on the approach to the shrine, tourists and other visitors took pictures of the festival floats decorated with elaborate carvings.

At the shrine, a festival float called “Hoteitai” presented an ingenious karakuri doll, which received a big round of applause from the visitors.

A woman who visited from Shizuoka Prefecture said, "I was thrilled to see the karakuri dolls up close. I was impressed by how the children's dolls were moving even though the strings were invisible. Traditional performing arts are great." I was.

The "Autumn Takayama Festival" will be held until the 10th, and the "Hikimawashi" of the festival floats during the daytime has been canceled to prevent infection.
