On October 9, Gan Yu, the "flood release hero" who was rescued 17 days after being lost in the earthquake in Luding, Sichuan, returned to his hometown in Shihe Town, Dazhu County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province. At 2:30 pm, the staff of the Party Committee and Government of Shihe Town, Dazhu County, Wutong Village Committee and other staff, as well as the grandfather, grandma and relatives of Gan Yu's hometown greeted him.
