6-year-old child trapped in wild mountain for 15 hours!

Long-distance mountain climbing is not conducive to children's growth and development

On October 6, the Beijing Fangshan Blue Sky Rescue Team participated in three mountain rescues in a row. One of them was 6 adults and 4 children who were trapped in wild mountains and spent the whole night in the cold wind.

This late-night rescue made the Blue Sky team members ask the question: Is it good or bad to take children under the age of 10 to participate in dangerous outdoor mountaineering activities?

Is it a life experience or an adventure?

Blue sky team members climb cliffs like geckos in the dark night

At 9:00 p.m. on the 6th, the Fangshan Blue Sky Rescue Team received a request for help, and 10 people were trapped in a wild mountain.

The temperature in Beijing was very low that day, and 23 Blue Sky team members immediately assembled and set off, and several of them even put on cotton coats.

"Where is the road! Except for the cliffs, the old team members crawled on the cliffs like geckos, and let the new team members walk on their shoulders." A member of the Blue Sky team who participated in the rescue said, "I don't know how many cliffs they passed through overnight. , Afterwards, my teammates said that I would not dare to walk on such a road during the day, so I couldn't see clearly when it was dark, but I was more daring."

Even if the Blue Sky team marches forward bravely, they cannot get close to the trapped person soon.

In the cold night, the team members were sweating profusely, and the sweat on their backs had already soaked their cotton coats.

On the way, the trapped people's urging calls came one after another.

"Are you still looking for us?"

  "How long will it take?"

  "We're cold and scared."

  ...

In order to arrive at the position of the trapped person as soon as possible, the backup Blue Sky team members at the foot of the mountain had to organize the second echelon to provide rapid support.

Finally, after untold hardships, at 7 am on the 7th, the team members finally found 10 trapped people, including 4 children, the youngest was only 6 years old.

It is not recommended to take children under the age of 10 to long-distance mountain climbing

During the rest period, the Blue Sky team learned that the 10 trapped people started climbing the mountain at around 11:00 a.m. and were trapped at around 8:00 p.m., taking at least 9 hours and 15 kilometers of mountain road.

"Climbing mountains is no better than walking on flat ground. 15 kilometers is a very large number of exercise. The father of the 6-year-old child said that the child walks all the way by himself, and he takes the dangerous places with him."

"On the way down the mountain, the 6-year-old child fell on two buttocks. The child was exhausted, kept crying, and began to find faults." Team Lantian said, "It is not uncommon for parents to take their children to climb wild mountains. So far, the youngest 'mountain climber' rescued by the Fangshan Blue Sky Rescue Team was 4 years old, and was finally carried down the mountain by the Blue Sky team members."

Are young children suitable for mountain climbing?

Blue Sky team members believe that children under the age of 10 should not be taken to long-distance mountain climbing, and children should not be allowed to participate in wild mountains that exceed 3 kilometers.

"In this rescue, some parents proudly said that last year, their children climbed and cried when they walked 18 kilometers of wild mountains. When we heard these words, we felt more helpless."

The blue sky team member explained that the child is growing, and long-distance climbing is not conducive to the child's growth and development.

"First of all, going up and down the mountain is not good for the child's knee joints, and secondly, the large amount of exercise is not good for the child's bone development. Of course, there are also negative psychological effects, especially the dark night after the accident, the howling wind, cold and hungry, etc. experience."

"It's not impossible for a child to climb the mountain appropriately to experience the beauty of nature when the child is young, but it should be done in moderation, and according to the child's physical and mental development, do what you can." Blue Sky team members said that once danger occurs, it will bring a lifetime of psychological shadows to the child. , even tragic.

"

At about 11:30 a.m. on the 7th, the Blue Sky team escorted the 10 trapped people to the foot of the mountain safely. At this time, 15 hours have passed since they were trapped in the wild mountain.

The purpose of climbing is to exercise, not to show off

The golden autumn in Beijing has arrived, and many citizens have begun to go out to pick and climb mountains to enjoy the autumn.

Blue Sky team members suggested that you make adequate preparations before climbing the mountain.

In terms of equipment, hiking shoes, trekking poles, mountaineering bags, headlamps, handstands, power banks, food and water are all necessities and are indispensable.

In terms of planning, the time to go up the mountain, the time to go down the mountain, the route, the choice of the leader and teammates, etc., must be considered carefully.

"We recommend that the best team for climbing is three to five people, too much or too little is not very good."

On the way to climb the mountain, you must learn to stop potential dangers in time. For example, if you encounter a road that you have not traveled, a fork in the road, etc., which may lead to getting lost, you must return to the original road as soon as possible.

In the event of danger, you must wait in place after calling the police, and must not be discredited to find a way.

"The sport of mountaineering must be treated correctly. The purpose of mountaineering is just to exercise your body. It is not that you have reached a certain peak, you have conquered the mountain. Don't let your vanity and show off send yourself to a point of no return." Lantian The team warned.
