Robot dogs compete with the real in China

Pictures and videos of people walking with robot dogs, instead of real dogs, have spread in China.

Robotic dogs inspired by the creations of Boston Dynamics are available.

According to several Chinese news outlets, the vast majority of robot dogs spotted on the streets of Chinese cities such as Shanghai and Beijing are locally produced, and have a number of built-in features such as "following," rolling, sitting, running, and carrying weights of up to 5 kilograms.

The camera in the dog's head allows it to identify and bypass obstacles and even identify its owner.

Chinese robot dogs range in price from $2,100 to $14,000, depending on built-in features and battery life.
