[Commentary] Qi Baishi's "Fish, Prawn and Crab", Xu Beihong's "Eight Horses", Ding Yanyong's "Cat and Sparrow"... On October 7th, Hong Kong Yixin Art Museum held the exhibition "Animals in Ink and Wash", which exhibited nearly There are 40 ink paintings with animals as the theme, including the works of ten famous modern Chinese painters including Qi Baishi, Gao Qifeng, Xu Beihong and Ding Yanyong.

The animal-themed paintings we exhibited this time actually contained different styles.

Some animals appear in the painting to express a kind of auspicious symbolism, such as chicken and "auspicious", deer and "lu", etc. There are some animals that we will see in our daily life, such as Qi Baishi and his The animals he paints are those he observes in his daily life.

He is very famous for drawing shrimp, even the shrimp whiskers and its joints are very alive, because you can see that there is actually a slight curve on this side. It's like it's really floating in the water like this.

[Explanation] Animal images in Chinese ink painting, as an artistic language, are endowed with different symbolic meanings.

In animal-themed paintings, in addition to the form of a single animal, the combination of animals and different plants is also very common.

In the exhibition, a painting by Qi Baishi and Xu Beihong is quite eye-catching.

This one is "Double Chicken and Plantain" by Xu Beihong and Qi Baishi.

In fact, Xu Beihong's style is more realistic, and he used a lot of ink to describe the rooster's tail, its claws, and its eyes deeply. Qi Baishi's painting of bananas is more freehand.

We can see that their styles are different.

The two of them are also very good friends in private, so sometimes they work together on paintings.

[Explanation] Mr. Luo, a Hong Kong citizen who came to visit, told reporters that he has always liked Chinese ink painting. The theme of this exhibition is novel, and he can see different animals painted by famous artists at the same time, which makes him feast for the eyes.

I like this "Eight Horses" because it is well drawn and suitable for both movement and stillness.

The three horses above show the dynamics of the three horses very well, and the running dynamics are very real. As for the other five horses below, his (Xu Beihong) static painting skills are very clear, that is, there is movement and stillness, two A painting (the whole picture) has a contrast.

[Explanation] It is reported that all the paintings in this exhibition are selected from the collection of Yitaoju, and the exhibition will last until December 22.
