It has already been clear that Great Britain would hold the Eurovision song contest, this after the 2022 winning country Ukraine cannot host the song contest due to the ongoing war.

Preparing to host the competition is estimated to take approximately 12 months.

Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, the organizer European broadcasting union, EBU, has judged that it is not possible for Ukraine to be the host country in 2023.

In May this year, the Ukrainian Kalush orchestra won the Eurovision song contest with the song "Stefania".

The song was the clear favorite of the audience and the group had received special permission to leave Ukraine to participate, despite the fact that the group members are men of war age.
