The head of the hospital, who was arrested in a bribery case involving the introduction of a system at the National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo, is believed to have developed a relationship with the president of the bribery company more than 10 years ago. This is what I learned from interviews with investigators.

There are several other contracts between the hospital and the company, and the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Headquarters is investigating the details.

Tomohiko Aso (56), director of radiological technology at the National Cancer Center Central Hospital in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, said that he was involved in the introduction of a system related to radiological medical equipment at the hospital. In return for convenience, he was arrested on the 5th on suspicion of bribery, saying that he received a bribe equivalent to 970,000 yen such as a tablet terminal from the president Yukio Okabe (65) in March last year.

In subsequent investigations, interviews with investigative officials revealed that the director met the president through the company's sales activities around 2011, 11 years ago, and that the relationship seems to have deepened since then.

According to investigative sources, the hospital and the company have signed multiple contracts for systems related to radiology over the past few years, so the police are investigating the details of the contracts in more detail.

Police have not disclosed the identity of the two men, citing an obstacle to the investigation.
