Hiroshima prefecture boasts the largest production volume in Japan, and the shipment of lemons, a special product, has begun.

Taking advantage of the warm climate of the Seto Inland Sea, Hiroshima Prefecture has a thriving lemon cultivation industry, boasting the largest production volume in Japan.

Among them, at the farm in Osaki Shimojima in Kure City, green lemons, which are characterized by their refreshing aroma and sour taste, are being harvested.

Producers carefully harvested each lemon using scissors while checking the size of the lemons.

The lemons were then transported to the island's sorting house, sorted by size, and boxed.

According to JA, this year there was concern about the effects of the summer heat and typhoons, but the lemons are finished with clean skins and rich aromas.

Kazuki Yamane, director of JA Hiroshima Yutaka, said, "This year, the balls are also large. It has a good fragrance and a sweetness behind the sourness, so I would like you to taste it."

In Hiroshima Prefecture, this season, we expect to ship about 6000 tons of lemons, which is more than 30% more than the previous season, and will be sent nationwide.
