In line with the 150th anniversary of the opening of the first railway in Japan, an event was held to reveal the locomotive cab on the Sagano Torokko Train, which runs through the mountains of Kyoto.

The "Sagano Scenic Train" is a sightseeing train that connects Sagano in Kyoto City and Kameoka City for about 7.3 kilometers, and you can enjoy the scenery of the mountain valley.



In line with the 150th anniversary of the opening of the railway between Shimbashi and Yokohama, a locomotive that is still in use was specially released on the 5th.



A diesel locomotive called the DE10 series was used, and visitors were given an explanation of its performance, explaining that it could run 2 kilometers on 1 liter of light oil and tow 5 passenger coaches.

After that, three of us entered the driver's cab, and after receiving an explanation about how to use the brakes that are separate for the locomotive and passenger cars, we enjoyed taking commemorative photos.



A woman in her 30s from Kyoto who visited with her two sons said, "Both my child and I were happy to be able to see the trains so close."
