Exit the "forced passage", make way for express negotiations.

Unions and employers are expected Wednesday afternoon at the Ministry of Labor for a first consultation session on the pension reform, of which Minister Olivier Dussopt was to specify "the timetable, the method and the objectives".

After two weeks of hesitation and tension on the hypothesis, finally discarded, of a reform by amendment to the Social Security budget, the executive has chosen to open a consultation on its pension reform project.

Charges the Minister of Labor to open the ball, with the social partners, which he receives from 2:30 p.m.

A meeting scheduled to last two hours, to which the three employers' federations (Medef, CPME, U2P), seven trade union centers (CFDT, CGT, FO, CFE-CGC, CFTC, Unsa, FSU) and the FNSEA are invited for the case especially farmers.

The Minister has already indicated that he will present to them “the timetable, method and objectives of the reform, with a view to a bill being adopted by the end of winter 2023”.

Towards a postponement of the retirement age

The government intends to move quickly, with a view to “entry into force of the reform in the summer of 2023”, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne recalled last week, referring in passing to a “gradual postponement of the retirement age of four months per year, culminating in 65 years in 2031”.

A red rag for the unions, which said in a joint statement on Tuesday that they remained "firmly opposed to any decline in the legal retirement age and an increase in the contribution period".

Calling for "loyal and transparent" discussions, they say they are ready to "build all the necessary means of action if the government remains propped up on its project".

Without mentioning, for the moment, a strike or demonstrations.
