In a corruption case involving the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic sponsorship contracts, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office special investigation department said that the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office, a major publisher, KADOKAWA Chairman Tsuguhiko Kadokawa (79), as a reward for receiving benefits in selecting a sponsor, etc. He was charged with bribery for paying a total of 69 million yen in bribes to former directors.

According to people involved, Chairman Kadokawa denies the indictment.
