[Explanation] According to the China Manned Space Engineering Office, in order to meet the needs of the follow-up missions of the manned space project, the selection of China's fourth batch of reserve astronauts has been started recently.

The selection of reserve astronauts will be organized and implemented by the China Manned Space Engineering Office. It is expected to be completed in about one and a half years. It will be the first time to select load experts in Hong Kong and Macau.

Li Jiachao said that the country's selection of load-bearing experts in Hong Kong signifies that the country encourages and welcomes Hong Kong compatriots to make contributions to the country's development, signifies the country's confidence in Hong Kong's scientific research level, and also signifies the country's concern for the development of Hong Kong's youth.

He has appointed Huang Wai Lun, Deputy Secretary of the Financial Secretary of the SAR Government, to be responsible for inter-bureau coordination and publicity and education, and Sun Dong, Director of the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the SAR Government, to be responsible for the specific selection work.

  The SAR government will arrange the primary selection of load experts. The recruitment period will start from October 6 to October 27 this year. As for further selection, relevant parties in the Mainland will conduct the primary selection. Our primary selection will be mainly conducted through the following agencies Recruitment, the first is 11 local universities, the second is the (SAR) government 5 research centers and the Hong Kong Productivity Council, the third is the Hong Kong Cyberport and scientific research institutions or scientific research enterprises in the Science and Technology Park, the fourth is (SAR) ) government departments and the Hong Kong Hospital Authority, the SAR government may also consider applications from institutions or enterprises other than the above. The candidates must meet the basic requirements, including age and physical requirements, and they must be in the relevant professional fields. Possessing a Ph.D. and having no less than three years of professional experience, we encourage all those who meet the basic requirements and who are interested in the human spaceflight career to participate.

When performing space flight missions, they are mainly responsible for carrying out space tests, operating and using space test equipment, and cooperating with other astronauts to handle the daily work of station management.

It is reported that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will hold a series of activities to deepen the awareness and understanding of Hong Kong citizens about the development achievements of the country's aerospace science and technology and the participation and contribution of Hong Kong experts to the country's aerospace engineering.
