It will be deployed on Saturday, October 8 on the Place du Parlement de Bretagne.

Covering an area of 1,400 m², the largest Breton flag in the world will reinforce Rennes in its status as regional capital and claim the attachment of Loire-Atlantique to the region.

On the eve of the football derby between Stade Rennais and FC Nantes, the association A la bretonne will deploy its giant gwenn ha in order to challenge elected officials and the population on the theme of the reunification of the region.

This same flag, 46 m long by 31 m wide and weighing 300 kg, had already been deployed in front of the castle of the Dukes of Brittany, in Nantes, in February 2022, in the hope of challenging the candidates for the presidential election.

On this occasion, many elected officials had signed a joint text calling for reunification.

For several years, more and more communities have expressed their wish to organize a referendum around the attachment of Loire-Atlantique for a Brittany with five departments.

In April, a wish had been adopted by the vast majority of the political groups of the regional council of Brittany (except the National Rally).

A wish which was intended in favor of greater autonomy, in particular legislative, regulatory and fiscal.

The region has issued an unprecedented wish asking for the opening of "discussions" with the State.
