This year's "Red Feather Community Chest" started on the 1st, and events calling for donations were held in various places.

Of these, the event held at Sensoji Temple in Tokyo was attended by actor Hayato Kakizawa, who plays the role of Minamoto no Sanetomo in the NHK Taiga drama "Kamakura-dono no Thirteen", and Toseki master of former Komusubi Takamimori.

In this, Kakizawa said, "I've been participating since I was a child. The role of Sanetomo, who I'm playing now, is a shogun, even though he's young, and he's confused, but he's doing his best to change the world with his own will." I am striving to change, and I always think that the will of each person can change the world.

The "Red Feather Community Chest", which started in 1947, is now in its 76th year, and the collected donations are used for welfare projects for the elderly and disabled, support for single-parent households, and damage caused by the 2019 typhoon. These funds are used to support disaster-stricken areas.

Last year's fundraising totaled more than 16.9 billion yen, including the year-end donations, and the target amount for this fiscal year is more than 18.5 billion yen.

Donations will be accepted on the streets, on the Internet, and at convenience stores nationwide until the end of March next year.
