Prince Hisahito, the eldest son of Prince Akishino and his wife, visited Ise Jingu Shrine in Mie Prefecture for the first time on the 1st.

Prince Hisahito, who entered high school this spring and celebrated his 16th birthday on the 6th of last month, visited Mie Prefecture and visited Ise Jingu Shrine on his days off.

Dressed in a suit, Prince Hisahito visited the outer shrine of Ise Jingu and then headed to the inner shrine, the most central shrine.

After being purified in front of the torii gate, under the guidance of a Shinto priest, he proceeded along the approach to the shrine and offered Tamagushi in front of the main gate of the inner shrine while many worshipers watched.

This is the second time Prince Hisahito has visited Ise Jingu since he visited with Prince Akishino and his wife and Princess Kako in 2013, and the first time he has visited by himself.

After that, Prince Hisahito visited the Jingu Art Museum in Ise City and saw a special exhibition of cultural properties related to Ise Jingu and Shosoin.
