Training account scams, fake broker scams, customs scams… Scammers are constantly coming up with new phishing ideas, and the latest concerns the Crit'Air sticker.

According to Numerama, a questionable SMS is currently circulating.

The message encourages its recipients to wear the mandatory Crit'Air sticker and directs them to the certificar-air.pro website.

However, the real official site has the address https://www.certificat-air.gouv.fr.

By clicking on the link integrated in the SMS, the victims arrive on a very well imitated platform where they are asked to pay the sum of 2.95 euros to receive the Crit'Air sticker.

Of course, the purpose of the scam is not to steal this modest sum, but to steal people's personal data.

These can then be used to carry out banking operations and make purchases with the contact details of the victims.

The government encourages distrust

Contacted, the services of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Cohesion quickly closed the fraudulent website.

They deployed a warning message on their official website, fearing that other platforms of the same kind could flourish.

The Crit'Air sticker is compulsory for driving in the low mobility emission zones (ZFE-m) established in certain territories.

Some cities such as Paris, Grenoble or Toulouse have been affected for several months.

The cities of Marseille, Lyon and Rouen, in particular, have been since September 1.
