On September 29, with the successful erection of the last steel truss girder, the Tongzi River Bridge on the Jinrentong Expressway in Guizhou was successfully closed. So far, the main structure of the Tongzi River Bridge has been completed.

Tongzi River Bridge is a control project of the whole line of Guizhou Jin (Sha) Ren (Huai) Tong (Zi) Expressway. It is the second largest span suspension bridge in the canyon area currently under construction in Guizhou Province. The Tongzi River Bridge is 1422 meters long. The bridge is a double-tower single-span steel truss girder suspension bridge, the main tower is 208 meters high, the main span is 965 meters, and the bridge deck is 360 meters away from the river surface.

The steel truss girder of the bridge has a total of 65 segments, and the single-piece steel truss girder weighs 230 tons. Pulled by two cable cranes with a lifting weight of 250 tons, the steel truss girder is installed in place with a 360° rotating spreader.

It is worth mentioning that the structure of the Tongzi River Bridge is the first in China to use corbel-type stiffening beams, the high and low towers on both sides of the bridge use group pile foundations and enlarged foundations, and the anchors on both sides of the bridge use tunnel anchors and gravity rock-socketed anchors at the same time. The structure makes full use of the stress characteristics of geological rock formations, and also ensures the structural safety of the bridge.
